Tonight was not exactly how I imagined my middle ages to be. At home, babysitting the grandchildren, while the wife takes the dogs out for a walk – returning after two-and-a-half hours, dead chuffed because she now has a Pikachu.

…I think my mobile phone might be a little racist, even if only inadvertantly. I was adding somebody called Gurinder to the contacts on my phone and it auto-corrected it to “Grinder”. Seriously though, why on Earth should auto-correct be enabled on fields for names?
I watched a bit of the MOBO awards last night, but only about three minutes’ worth. As I tuned in there was a category where two of the nominees were Jessie J and Katy B which made it sound like they were not so much recording artists as child protection cases being granted anonymity. It […]
I have just been looking at the Wikipedia page for The Wombles (specifically the band rather than the books or TV shows) for no particular reason. I already knew that Chris Spedding was in the band so that was no great revelation, but several other things were news to me. Unfortunately some of the best […]

Conscious that I am failing miserably to watch more TV this year, I watched a few programmes I had recorded on V+ tonight, including the nail-biting quarter-final of University Challenge between Oxford Brookes and York. After that I had a quick look on the EPG and saw that the film Mega Piranha was just starting […]

Today the BBC website has a story of police idiocy on a par with when the Irish police had Prawo Jazdy at the top of their most-wanted list. Basically, the police an address more than 40 times in 18 months by mistake. It seems they were getting calls to a house in Repton Grove but […]
