Kraftwerk, in typical fashion, have sort of announced a live DVD of last year’s concerts. All they have on their website is this page. They like to avoid all the typical publicity, so do not provide a release date or anything. I think they ‘announced’ that they were to re-release all their previous albums on hybrid SACD about a year ago and so far nothing has appeared, so I am not getting my hopes up for an imminent release here.
In the absence of real information, the internet is full of speculation. One review site thinks that the release will be a box set containing the DVD, CD, SACD and vinyl, which seems a bit unlikely and stupid to me. How many people will have both an SACD player and a proper turntable? If you have the SACD, why bother with the CDs? I reckon someone just misunderstood.
Anyway. Something to look forward to. Maybe it will be out in time for my 50th birthday, in 2012.
