Spizzenergi again

May 30th, 2005 · Posted by Skuds in Music · No Comments · Music

I have just got back from a night out in London to see Spizzenergi at the 100 club again. This time I went with my fellow Labour blogger from Crawley, danivon. He had never seen Spizz live before, and seemed to enjoy it well enough.

The set was a little different from the last couple of times I saw the band. It still started with 6000 Crazy and No Room and ended with The Model, Clocks Are Big and Where’s Captain Kirk, but in the middle were a couple of old songs that I haven’t heard the band play live before. One was Cold City from 1978 and the other was Amnesia of a similar vintage. I had only ever heard Cold City on the original vinyl single by Spizz Oil which is just voice, guitar and some clinking milk bottles, so hearing it with bass and drums as well was a treat. I missed the milk bottles though…

And now a message for Spizz: I know you sometimes do a Google search for your name, so you might read this. If so, its about time you started blogging! I know from long experience what a raconteur you are, and how you still enjoy a less than conventional life. This is the medium you have been waiting for.

As you are also a Labour supporter, you could even get listed on the excellent Bloggers4Labour site!
