More from the Broadfield Forum

September 29th, 2005 · Posted by Skuds in Life · No Comments · Life

I have had another thought about Tuesday’s Broadfield Forum.

It is a useful meeting, but there are ways to make it more useful. I have already discussed how it could, and should, be more inclusive, particularly in the respect of not ignoring the Tollgate Hill area. Another improvement occurred to me while I was writing about the Post Office.

The minutes of the meeting are circulated to those invited to the next meeting. They do not seem to have any wider distribution. Really the contents of the meeting and any outcomes should be more widely publicised. That might even encourage more people to take part. For a start, what I am doing here could be done by the council, or by the councillors taking part. That is not a criticism – its just that the world has moved on a bit and there are so many new ways to communicate and some of our institutions have not really caught up or realised the potential.

So I will continue and try to post a summary of the rest of the meeting in the vain hope it might get read and stir up a bit more interest next time round.
