After work last night I went to an ex-colleague’s 40th birthday party. It was held, conveniently, at Doggett’s Coat & Badge which is within walking distance of the office.
The pub has four bars on four floors and is right on the river. We were in the top bar which has a great view across London.
The evening was let down a bit by the fact that my ex-wife turned up, but I should have expected it – the birthday boy is married to her sister after all.
As I was leaving, she commented on my black and white scarf and asked if it was West Ham (!). I told her it was Juve and just got a blank look, while her new husband gave an approving thumbs up. He has my sympathy, although as a QPR supporter he had that already.
