We all know that there is a housing crisis, and especially in Crawley and Horsham where, like most of the South-East, it is nearly impossible for youngsters to find anywhere to live, but it could be worse.
For an example of how much worse it can get, just look across the channel, where there is a worrying trend is towards housing on a contre service basis. What this means is that landlords are offering rooms to rent with part or all of the rent payable in kind. Although this can mean cleaning or cooking, in many cases it means sexual favours in exchange for a roof over the head.
I don’t think we are that bad here yet, but lets try and put up some affordable houses now so that it doesn’t get like that.
