I knew that my intention to do my bit for the planet and recycle song titles for blog posts was not original – I have seen it done before. What I did not realise is the the esteemed Bob Piper has been quietly doing it for some time now. I always keep an eye on his site but never cottoned on that he was consistently slipping in song titles. Just look at these recent post titles:
- Making your mind up
- Everybody hurts
- The final countdown
- Another one bites the dust
- Way down in the hole
- I like it
- Don’t believe a word
- Damage limitation (showing a hitherto unexpected Extreme Noise Terror habit?)
- What becomes of the broken hearted
All from the 30 posts in the last two weeks. A 30% hit rate and its possible there are a few more in there that I didn’t recognise. (Is there a song called “An Oily Tory” perhaps? “Why is Quentin Letts so rude?” could be a Half Man Half Biscuit song title for all I know)
I shan’t let it put me off though: there are worse footsteps than Bob’s to follow in.
