Isn’t the first day back at work after Christmas horrible?  You reach that mid-morning point where you really need a coffee and then realise that for the last week you wouldn’t have even been up by that time. This year is even worse since we are all going back on a Monday and therefore have a full week to endure, and to top it all the car needed some serious scraping.
But let’s not get carried away with the ‘big freeze’ hyperbole – its a little bit of snow. In winter. I’m sure the railways were referring to ‘adverse weather conditions’ to explain delays this morning as usual, which always used to wind me up when I commuted to London. I always wanted to yell back through the PA system “It’s not adverse weather: it’s normal for this time of year – jut cope with it!”.
Days like this make me love the fact I’m working locally now.
