Returned home from France to find a letter from West Sussex County Council:
I am writing to give you early notice of the dates of events following the Councy Council elections on 4th June which you might like to enter in your diary in the event that you are elected as a member of the County Council.
Nice of them to do it, but looking at the historical record in Horsham (i.e. no Labour councillors elected, ever) I think they did well to not insert the word “unlikely” before “event”.
