Like any other sensible company is doing in the current economic climate the one I work for is trying to spend less, starting with cutting out un-necessary expenditure – nothing that wouldn’t make sense even in happier times. Amongst the instructions we have been given was one to spend company money as if it was our own.
I immediately went out and bought a 42″ plasma TV, electric bass guitar and Caribbean cruise with the company credit card. I do hope that is what they meant…

We get told the same but I’ve gone the other way and keep shouting at my boss for leaving lights on and only using one side of the paper….

Try to be a little flexible though and avoid the trap of blindly following dogma. Using both sides of the paper can be unadvisable in some circumstances.
