Black Sheep

This evening I watched the New Zealand comedy-horror film Black Sheep – the second NZ film I have watched this year.  I think it cost me about three quid in HMV and have not laughed so much for ages.  It is like a cross between Resident Evil and Footrot Flats and all done in the spirit of Shaun of the Dead.

This is not a film to watch while eating, in fact it is an extremely gory film even if some of the goriest bits caused some of the biggest laughs.  Some people say that the root of all comedy is incongruity and you don’t get much more incongruous than killer sheep ripping the entrails out of people.  Just don’t take it too seriously: the people who made it didn’t, hence the gloriously funny mint sauce scene.
