Krautrock playlist

I really enjoyed the Krautrock documentary on BBC Four the other day, although it was extremely frustrating at times.    You would get a little clip of footage of Can or Neu! playing in a club and be left wanting to see more.  You know that nobody would have just filmed 10 seconds, and there must be whole songs or concerts in the archives.  They could have extended those clips and shown fewer clips of rioting students in 1968 – one clip is enough to get the message across.Still, very interesting to see some of them still at it today and still as avante garde as ever.  It whetted my appetite to knock up a Krautrock playlist on Spotify.  I already had a playlist for German artists which has some ‘Komische’ on it, but also disco, heavy metal, punk, indie and hip-hop.

So here it is: my krautrock playlist.   Some of it veers more towards being just prog or jazz-prog, but it does filter out all the later music.  I was bit disappointed to find that, for some reason, Neu!’s best track, Hallogallo, which is the archetypal Krautrock track for me, is unavailable in the UK, but surprised to find just how much is on there.

Have I missed anybody obvious off it?
