Cut the red tape

August 13th, 2007 · 3 Comments · Politics

When the Tories pretend to be socially responsible, caring and cuddly they are nothing short of laughable, but when the mask slips and they show their real face they are beyond parody. The latest scheme is to try pushing the idea of ‘cutting the red tape’ as contained in John Redwood’s new cunning plan. By […]

Visiting

August 13th, 2007 · Comments Off on Visiting · Life, Music

The last couple of weeks have seen a whole pile of relative-visiting. After I went up to see Dad in hospital, Jayne found out that her uncle was also in hospital and her Dad wasn’t well either. Last week she went over to East Sussex to visit her family and now she is back we […]

Like my dreams they fade and die

August 12th, 2007 · Comments Off on Like my dreams they fade and die · Life

Bugger! Not a great start for West Ham. Its some sort of consolation that after all their heavy spending and talk about breaking into the top four Spurs also lost. Looking on the bright side, Crawley Town beat Stevenage so they now only need another win to reach zero points.

August 10th, 2007 · 6 Comments · Life

Yesterday I came across what looked like a brilliant bit of trivia. The film Personal Services was on TV and I wanted to check up something about it on IMDb. Lightning strikes same place three times

August 8th, 2007 · Comments Off on Lightning strikes same place three times · Life

For the third season in a row Crawley Town have been docked points. This year we start the season with minus six points. At least we are 4 points up on where we were at the start of last season, which is a tiny consolation.

Question of the day

August 8th, 2007 · Comments Off on Question of the day · Politics

There has been a lot of attention given to Tom Cowie’s decision to stop donating money to the Tory party and to join the queue of Tory supporters, members and sympathisers who are lining up to stick the knife into David Cameron. I was more interested in the tail end of the story in the […]

Uncharacteristic burst of energy

August 8th, 2007 · Comments Off on Uncharacteristic burst of energy · Politics

I really have had a flurry of activity today. This evening I had a trade union meeting, immediately followed by a Unite Against Fascism meeting, where I picked up a big pile of actions.

Mela Photos

August 7th, 2007 · Comments Off on Mela Photos · Politics

Does anyone have any photos of the Crawley Mela which show the Wealden UAF/Crawley Campaign Against Racism stall or which show all the crowds wearing UAF/Unite badges? If so, are you willing to let us have a copy for future UAF leaflets or the website? No payment (we are saving funds for campaigning) but full […]
