Yes. I was a little excited by that headline too but the story in the Argus turned out to have nothing to do with the singer from The Police and everything to do with the Sussex Police and Brighton & Hove council instead.

Last week the Foo Fighters were playing in Toronto. At the end of the obligatory drum solo by Taylor Hawkins, Geddy Lee and Alex Lifeson from Rush wandered onto the stage with their instruments and launched into YYZ with Hawkins playing drums for them. The world is divided into those to whom this means nothing […]

Sometimes I am a late adopter of technology, often when I can appreciate the cleverness of something but just don’t see the need for it myself. Mobile phones are a case in point. I like to know what they are capable of, and I am endlessly impressed by what they can do, but I am […]

There must be something in the water down in Worthing… There is some video at the Argus demonstrating how the wood on the beach there could have been cleared by using Star Trek spaceships. Fools. Have they forgotten that the beach is guarded by daleks?

The curse of Steptoe

The Curse of Steptoe on BBC4 this week was a real treat. Although I can remember the programme I don’t think I really appreciated it properly at the time: I was only 12 when it finished it’s last season.
