I had been a bit worried about the possibility of turning up for work this morning and finding that cardboard box outside the door still, with a now-dead pigeon in it.
I left at about 5pm on Friday to go over the river for a drink with some ex-colleagues and, as I was going, the RSPCA called to confirm the location, but I was not too confident as a lot of people have great difficulty finding this place.
So it was a great relief to find the area outside the building reassuringly free of cardboard boxes. I suppose there is a possibility that a street cleaner scooped it up over the weekend, but I would like to think that the right people collected it on Friday. To be honest, I doubt they could have done anything more than a mercy killing, but thats got to be less suffering for the bird.
