Quite a few Labour bloggers have referred to the John Hemming situation in Birmingham (the recently elected Lib Dem MP with a wife, pregnant girlfriend and graveyards full of skeletons in the closet) but surely Recess Monkey has come up with the best line about it.
Recess Monkey can’t quite put his finger on why Mrs Hemming stays with her multi-millionaire philanderer of a husband.
OK, so its a variation of the Dennis Pennis question to Debbie McGee, but the old ones are the best!

It may not have come to your notice that I have been a chief executive and director of several comapnies in the last 15 years including my own. I do not take a penny of Johns money and infact I help to pay for the mistress as John pays her as a personal assistant out of his trading company income which is personally his and therefore legally my income.
Obviously not.
But that turns Recess Monkey’s recycling of an old joke of a rhetorical question into a real question, and replaces the humour with pathos.
