Apparently I am an Owl, otherwise known as a B-person.
As a committed long-term insomniac, I was more than a little interested in this article in the paper about how I am not a lazy sod for not wanting to get out of bed in the morning but I just have a short version of a gene called Period 3.
The whole article is recommended reading and not just because of the fascinating fact that in Uppsala University you can get a PhD in Nutrition and Shift Working. Would it be too ironic if you could study for that in evening classes?
I think we should all get behind the Danish campaign to stop "the tyranny of early risers".

I can tell you that insomnia can be of assistence with a PhD!! However, a PhD in work-life balance sounds almost like a contradiction in terms, or maybe I took it all too seriously?!

So Dad will be able to blame all his aches and pains on being an extreme lark – although he does also take a long time to get moving in the morning so I think he’s going for the best of both worlds!

I agree, mate. As a fully fledged owl, I can’t stand all those cheery morning people.
