I really should have moved faster getting tickets for Manu Chao in Brixton. I went to get tickets for Friday October 5th tonight and it has sold out, along with the 4th October show.
Fortunately a new date has been added on October 2nd so I ordered tickets straight away before that sells out too. I would much rather be going up to London on a Friday night than a Tuesday, but at least I won't miss out.
The Brixton Academy has a capacity of nearly 5,000 so selling out two nights in a row is not bad for someone who has never troubled the UK single charts. It would be nice to see this as evidence that Britain is starting to catch up with the rest of the world, but I think it is more likely just evidence of how many young French and Spanish there are living in London now.
Anyway… time for a quick reminder of what all the fuss is about.
