Driving home from a visit to the old folks today (Hi Mum!) I heard a tasty track played on the radio that had all the hallmarks of vintage Metallica – and it was indeed a new Metallica single at 19 in the charts. It almost made up for the dreadful congestion.
At the moment I am sitting on an HMV voucher that I was thinking of using to get the Chemical Brothers’ new greatest hits CD, but I’m thinking I might keep it until September 12th when their new album hits the shops. It is supposed to be a return to form after the poorly-received St Anger (which I personally liked) and it the single is anything to go by it is a lot like their pre-‘black album’ material. Not sure about the inclusion of a track called The Unforgiven III though: I wasn’t too keen on The Unforgiven II.
Also, the band are playing a secret show somewhere in London on September 15th. I’ve entered the draw for tickets so fingers are now firmly crossed.
