I see that Top Gear is back on BBC Two tonight. To mark the event, here is a letter from Friday’s Guardian that rather ticked me:
The format of Top Gear can scarcely be called original (G2, 12 November). For over 30 years the BBC has had thre old codgers doing daft things and getting into scrapes on Sunday evenings. Top GEar is LAst of the Summer Wine with fast cars.

There is always going to be some idiot who takes it all seriously. No names - you know who you are. Not that anyone reads all this stuff at the bottom anyway, not when there is more exciting stuff to do like watching paint dry...
