The sights of Broadfield
September 30th, 2005 · Comments Off on The sights of Broadfield · Life
I had to go off to the tip today to throw away all the rubbish I have been accumulating at the side of the house. On the way back I decided to have a look at a couple of places in Broadfield I have not had much of a chance to visit. First of all […]
Surrounded by the Police

Here is a little story from my youth. Sorry about the length. It does get topical by the end. Honest. I had arranged to meet an old college friend on the South Bank, outside the NFT. There was a bit of a cock-up over the time. I thought we were meeting at 6 and he […]
Community Support Officers

I have been thinking about Police Community Support Officers, or PCSOs lately. You see a lot of them around now and they are starting to get more accepted. So isn’t it about time we had a nickname for them? The police have quite a few nicknames ranging from the offensive (the filth, pigs) to the […]
Busy Week

Well today was the big day. At about half past six this morning we had a phone call from the police. They were at the Community Centre, wanting to be let in so their sniffer dogs could check the place out. Jayne took us down there so she could let them in on her way […]

Stabbing
March 24th, 2005 · Comments Off on Stabbing · Life
So. All that police activity was because someone had been stabbed at about 3:30pm – not too long before we went past. It sounds like a nasty business, and obviously something we can do without. About the only good thing about it is that the victim survived and will probably make a full recovery.
Police Activity
March 21st, 2005 · Comments Off on Police Activity · Life
On the way back from the station this evening we saw a lot of Police activity in Broadfield. The first thing we noticed was some blue-and-white Police tape blocking the back alley from Ailsa Close onto Horsham Road. When we went past it, I noticed a policeman standing guard. When we turned up Broadfield Drive […]

Police and Thieves
October 2nd, 2004 · Comments Off on Police and Thieves · Life
It seems like the local kids have sunk to a new low. This evening somebody broke into the community centre through the fire exit of the main hall. They trashed the kitched, pulling the doors of a locked kitchen cupboard belonging to a pre-school group. Then they broke locks and bolts on doors to get […]
