Well we are back home now. Sort of. The builders finished on Friday and gave us the keys back, and we spent 3 days decorating in near-equatorial temperatures.
Today we moved back in, with the paint barely dry. The living room has had a complete make-over: painted walls and ceiling, new laminate floor, woodwork glossed, new coving, new light fittings, all the shelves removed and stained. (That last bit might not sound like much, but I have about 25 metres of shelving in the living room for all the books.) I even took my desk outside and stained the wood on that too.
The kitchen and hall have had a bit of preparatory work done, but the main work will happen over the next week or so. Unpacking is nowhere near complete yet. I have managed to get all the books out of storage and back on the shelves, and set up the computer temporarily. (New router working OK, but yet to fit the wireless card in another PC)
All my hi-fi separates are still in the cupboard or upstairs under the bed, and none of the televisions is connected. Still loads to do, so I had better go and do it now that I have tested out the internet connection properly.
