Only one day before the new TV arrives, and I had a phone call this evening. It was someone from Comet. As soon as they said that I wondered whether it was to confirm the delivery time or to tell me about a delay, but it was neither: it was customer services doing a survey. The first question was “You recently bought a TV from Comet. Are you happy with it?” I had to say that I would be happy when it arrives tomorrow…

The other thing winding me up at the moment is PayPal. I tried to set up an account some time ago so I could send a donation to a web site, and I figured it would be a handy thing to have anyway in case I ever get into all this e-bay lark. As soon as the account was opened it was given ‘limited access’. This means you can’t do anything until you send some more information, which they are then not happy with and ask for yet more information. Apparently the hold-up now is because there are other accounts linked to me which are in the red. I have never set up another account. They say it is connected to a yahoo.com address. To my mind a yahoo address is the same as a hotmail address – anonymous and could be anyone. Why on earth do these people allow accounts to be set up with anonymous emails? There are bulletin/chat boards out there who would not even allow that!
