Interesting but misleading

There is a site called world66.com which is a travel site still at the beta stage. One thing you can do on it is generate a map of where you have been. Here is mine:

It makes me look a lot more well-travelled than I actually am, mainly because China, Australia and the US are all huge places. I spent one day in Hong Kong, but thats now part of China so it looks like I have visited a huge chunk of the Earth, but only spent a day in one city there.

Similarly, in three visits to Australia I have only been to Sydney but that has turned almost a continent red, and trips to New York, Connecticut, Orlando and LA make the whole of the US red.

Closer to home, the whole of the UK is coloured in even though I have never been to Scotland or Northern Ireland. I haven’t even been to Cornwall!
