Pimp My Ride on MTV is one of our son’s obsessions on television, along with MTV Cribs, the rap shows, and umpteen American teen sitcoms. One day we will have to break the bad news to him that he is not a gansta, but in the meantime…
At the end of each edition of Pimp My Ride, someone who has had their old banger transformed by a paint job, lots of chrome, a huge stereo and other accessories turns to the camera and says “Thank you MTV for pimping my ride!”
Just once I would like to hear them say “thank you MTV for increasing my insurance premiums beyond my ability to pay!”
