Already there are some houses which have displays of Christmas lights to rival a Jean-Michel Jarre concert lightshow. I have one word for them – November!! Even some houses in Broadfield are doing it.
I think it is already established that I do not really like Christmas much, except as a chance to have a week off without using too much annual leave, but all these ostentatious displays of bad taste really get to me.
And of course, this has encouraged Jayne to get the decorations and tree down from the loft tonight. I had to resort listening to an entire Doctor Feelgood concert and the new Gang of Four CD to get me back in a good mood.
Somehow ‘Love Like Anthrax’, ‘Damaged Goods’ and ‘To Hell With Poverty’ never fail to perk me up.
I will have to take the camera out to record a few of the more spectacular examples for posterity.
