So far 5 out of the 8 groups have played four games each with two to go. In all 5 groups the remaining games are between the two top teams and the two bottom teams. Spooky.
For the trend to continue Brazil will have to stuff Australia while Croatia beat Japan. Not impossible.

I thought they rigged the fixtures so that the two highest seeded teams meet in the last match. Therefore as long as all sections go as planned then the top two should always meet in the last match.

That works for Groups A-E but in F the final game is Brazil & Japan. I would have thought Croatia were ranked above Japan.
As for Group G… Togo are obviously the bottom seed and they are playing France. Are you suggesting that France are so useless they aren’t even expected to get out of the group? (Hang on… you might have a point)

Well if they don’t win against Togo they will have managed to go over ten years (12) without a world cup finals win.
Still, I would accept winning the cup if it came at a cost of ten years without a win.

I know what you mean.
See that Group G followed the pattern – thats 6 out of 8.
