If Gordon Brown is hunting around for some big ideas to make an impact in his first 100 days, he should go and have a look at Parburypolitica.
I have a few big ideas myself. Probably impractical, but ideal for one of those 'blue-sky' sessions where you think the unthinkable to try and stimulate new ideas. I must get round to writing a few of them up so everyone can take the piss out of me.

You should blog about the rearranging of parliament. It’s an interesting idea. Not convinced it will make the cut for Gordon’s first 100 days though. I’m partial to the separation of powers ala the US style. Taking government of parliament so that our representatives have a greater pull from the constituency than the whips.

Hmmm. I remember the JobClub from a delightful period of unemployment in the 80’s. You would have to do something to make it a bit more motivating than a room full of people bitching about how the jobs don’t pay enough to pay for Sky and fags let alone rent. Although, on the plus side Thatcher isn’t in power anymore

Was there a woman in charge who was obsessed with pens by any chance?
Tyger – I’m not sure the world is ready for my ideas. It certainly wasn’t ready for my pogo stick/zimmer frame hybrid invention which would have been a revolution in OAP transport.
Will – reform of parliament is always going to be unlikely. The phrase about turkeys voting for Christmas comes to mind.
