There are reasons to like and dislike Primark. For families on a tight budget the place is brilliant, for example, but you have to wonder what sort of exploitation makes the prices possible.
For me personally there is one major reason to dislike the place – the belts which are all ‘one-size’. I don’t know what the one size is, but it certainly isn’t mine. At least they don’t have the cheek to say one size fits all.
But that is outweighed by the fact that they sell trunk-style gents underwear with the description ‘engineered for comfort’. Now isn’t that a major self-esteem enhancer! Just the suggestion that your tackle is so substantial that it is not sufficient to have underwear designed but that it has to be engineered, possibly even by civil engineers, helps give you a swagger.
Now thats what I call marketing.
