I am confused by the new rail fares.
It is not the whole idea of increasing costs for one of the (theorically) more efficient and less polluting modes of transport at a time when green issues are finally climbing up the agenda: what is confusing me is why my own fare seems to have gone down by just over 3%
My journey uses Southern trains whose fares are supposed to be rising by 4.3% for both regulated and unregulated fares, but the weekly ticket I bought this morning was two quid less than a weekly ticket I bought just before the holidays.
Not complaining about it going down – its still far more than I want to pay – just pleasantly confused about the ticket price going down slightly… and slightly worried that it might just be a cock-up and next week it will be through the roof.
If you’re confused and (if I recall correctly) you work in that industry then what hope is there for the rest of us……? 🙂
Unfortunately not in that industry far enough to get free travel… My little bit of the company only deals with London Undreground.
