When I got home and found my server unreachable I had that sinking feeling that the old trouble had returned, despite being on a different server, run by a different company in a different continent.
It turns out that it was actually a major power issue in their main data centre and not my fault this time.
I know this because I was able to go to their support site and chat online to a real live support person – either that or a very good Turing machine. Had I been willing to fork out for transatlantic phone calls I could have actually spoke to them instead. Just one of many reasons why I eventually left Supanames.
I forgot to ask why they don’t run their customers’ servers in the same place as their own. Or maybe thats a stupid question like why they don’t make planes out of the same material as the black boxes.
