The great escape?

With Charlton losing today and West Ham beating Wigan, survival is still a slight possibility for the Hammers. At the moment we are only in the relegation places by goal difference because we only beat Wigan 3-0. Had we beaten them 6-0 we would have been one place higher.

Of course we are now relying on getting decent results from two hard games and having two teams out of Charlton, Fulham and Wigan really slip up.

Looking on the bright side, Crawley Town survived the last day of the season and will be in the Conference (or whatever it is going to be called next season) again – as long as the Majeeds don’t do something silly with the finances…

Not a bad achievement when you think back to the start of the season and the team had a 10-point deficit, no players under contract, law suits flying around, and the rest of the league free to take their pick of the few players we had.

Now if we can just do the rest – up to and including the last minute Tevez goal that breaks the heart of every Man U fan in the world (but of course, none of them will actually be in Manchester…)

I watched the game on MOTD last night and with all the near misses and woodworK-rattling we had, and the way Wigan played, it would not have been out of the question to have scored the 6 we needed to get above them!
