Dave does it again

Dave Grohl really does seem to be the collaborator of choice these days for surprise guest appearances at concerts. Last December the members of Queen joined the Foo Fighters on stage at the O2, in March this year it was Geddy Lee and Alex Liveson of Rush joining the Foo Fighters in Toronto to play with their drummer, last week Dave Grohl turned up to play drums and guitar for a couple of songs at Paul McCartney’s Liverpool concert.

The latest Foo Fighters coup is that Led Zeppelin joined them onstage at Wembley.  Not the complete, Percy Plant was missing, but Jimmy Page and John Paul Jones came on for the encore and rattled through Rock & Roll and Ramble On.  For Rock & Roll Grohl played the drums and the drummer came out to sing.

Its getting to the point where, if Elvis came on as a guest in a future Foo Fighters show it would only be a mild surprise.

Here are the inevitable YouTube videos from someone lucky enough to be in the front rows.  Now that’s entertainment – even with the dodgy sound, unsteady camera, and people getting in the way.
