I was quite happy to get some predictable gifts on Father’s Day.  A book about football, some stealth slippers and Paul Weller’s new CD.   I was dropping hints about the slippers before Christmas! The old ones had harder soles and were louder than any outdoor footwear I have ever had – including football boots. I haven’t listened to all of 22 Dreams yet. I am playing it in the car and my commute is now so mercifully short that I don’t get time to listen to a whole album during the journey there and back. So far it bears out what the critics have been saying – that it is a more varied and adventurous album than anything he has done for a while. Mind you, I rather liked the last one which included one of the best songs in the world, ever: From The Floorboards Up.
Nothing wrong with predictable
