Expect my fitness levels to increase significantly from now on because I am going to be using the stairs a lot more at work. In fact I will probably use them all the time after today’s little episode when I got stuck between the 2ns and 3rd floors for more than an hour.

The big story from the world of theatre this week is, as far as the UK is concerned, David Tennant missing from the RSC’s production of Hamlet because of a back problem. I imagine that it really does hurt and that he would be on stage if he was at all able to be, so […]
White Christmas

One organisation guaranteed to be hoping for a white Christmas are the BNP, who are apparently holding a Christmas party for their members in Sussex/Surrey in Crawley on Saturday.  It’s a secret so not only do normal people not know where it is being held, except that it is within a mile of J10 of […]
Party in Session

We are well into the Christmas party season now. Last week Jayne was out at various functions for four nights in a row. One was my company’s annual do.  Being the sort of miserable bastard who doesn’t really like Christmas much I normally avoid company parties, but after hearing tales of how lavish they are […]

This always seems to happen. There was a major astronomical event yesterday and I was oblivious to it until afterwards. It’s the same with the perseid showers most years: if by some miracle I remember they are happening its a really foggy and/or rainy night.
Maybe I’m Amazed

I had a bit of a shock seeing those pictures of Guildford cathedral all over the news. I was there 24 hours before the police shot somebody in the grounds of the cathedral. It is still unclear exactly why the police shot the man, and it is even less clear why the BBC website threw […]

Young Turks

Sunday evening I went down to the Bar Med in Crawley, where the young people of the town were organising, playing at and going to see a charity concert. Although I am far from young myself, they did need some volunteer responsible adults for the event and I managed to pass as a responsible adult […]
