Probably not a serious website…

A work colleague pointed me to the website of one of my favourite authors today. Jasper Fforde is an author of comic genius who should be made compulsory reading at English ‘A’ level. (Then the exams would be easy and fun!) I am currently enjoying Toad News http://www.jasperfforde.com/toad/nikon.html and can heartily recommend you do too!

Isn’t he great? I’ve read all the Thursday Next novels in the last few months, and they’re so clever it’s just depressing. I’d be proud to think up just one of the five-a-page jokes he crams in.

I love that it is part of my actual job to recommend books to people – Jasper Fforde makes it so easy…

I have heard nothing but good things about him, so I am making a point of not picking up any of his books yet… its good to have something in reserve.

Confused the main blog says he’s one of your favourite authors and in the comments section you say you haven’t picked up any of his books – does this mean you read books via some sort of psychic ability we havent heard about yet ?

But yes loved his thursday books (though like most series the first two or three were the best)

Easily explained. The main post was written by my stunt-double, Sister Jane.

you know I looked twice to see if it was you that posted but didn’t spot it even though it’s quite plain (at least on the reply page.

Oh well still prefer my psychic reading explanation

And I think Jasper would appreciate it too! You can easily tell skud’s sister from skud’s sister’s brother – the lumps in the sweater are higher up and I’m much better looking….

It would be even worse if Mary (AKA Skuds’ sister’s brother’s other sister) decided she wanted to have an account here.

  • skud's sister

No, that would be easy – she’d still be Baby Skuds just like she was at school…
