I was in the big Tesco today and got distracted by jackets.  I was rather taken with some nice, very light linen jackets because I like wearing them in summer.  Didn’t get one because Jayne really doesn’t like them.  Shame, as they actually had trousers to go with them.  I could have worn it while campaigning and been like a slightly grubbier version of Martin Bell.  Of course the real reason it appealed to me is that it reminds me of the disreputably crumpled suit Lee Brilleaux was wearing in the Going Back Home DVD.I did get a suit though.  A sort of greeny colour, but quite subdued.  I could not resist it at the price – £31 for the jacket and £14 for the trousers.  I even got a second pair of trousers as spares.   When I got to the checkout I was only charged £44 for the lot: there was a special offer I had not noticed, whereby if you bought jacket and trousers together you got them for £30.

Not a bad suit either.  Might have to sneak back without Jayne and pick up a Lee Brilleaux special.

A good week for bargains really.  Earlier in the week we had a book company set up in the canteen at work, as they do several times a year.  Mostly chilren’s books, but I did get a book on digital photography for £3.  Only a Reader’s Digest one though.  They are usually a bit too high-level for me, but that might be appropriate for me on this topic.  I never have got round to reading the manuals of Photoshop Elements and maybe I need something more accessible first.

Good excuse for a bit of Brilleaux in his prime, and in that suit…
