Bugger! Not a great start for West Ham. Its some sort of consolation that after all their heavy spending and talk about breaking into the top four Spurs also lost. Looking on the bright side, Crawley Town beat Stevenage so they now only need another win to reach zero points.

Lightning strikes same place three times

For the third season in a row Crawley Town have been docked points. This year we start the season with minus six points. At least we are 4 points up on where we were at the start of last season, which is a tiny consolation.

The great escape?

With Charlton losing today and West Ham beating Wigan, survival is still a slight possibility for the Hammers. At the moment we are only in the relegation places by goal difference because we only beat Wigan 3-0. Had we beaten them 6-0 we would have been one place higher. Of course we are now relying […]

Keeping us in suspense
April 21st, 2007 · 4 Comments · Life
The football season is being very cruel this year. West Ham managed another win, while Charlton & Sheffield drew so neither of them has got too out of reach. If we beat Wigan by enough goals we can go above them, but you have to wonder if we are just being strung along and offered […]

Disgusting profligates beaten by West Ham
April 7th, 2007 · 5 Comments · Life
That was the headline on Football365‘s front page today. Apparently Arsenal had 29 attempts on goal while West Ham had about 4. It has been an unexpectedly good weekend so far. This afternoon I went down to Broadfield Park to take some pictures and stay away from the football results, expecting West Ham to get […]

End of the road?
November 1st, 2006 · Comments Off on End of the road? · Life
Is it the end of the road for Crawley Town FC? This week the owners sacked the manager, John Hollins, and have missed their deadline for paying off their creditors. Meanwhile two parties are interested in paying out £70m to buy West Ham. I wonder if either of them could be persuaded to take an […]

Lucky, Lucky Oxford

Not content with thrashing Crawley in the top 100 Labour bloggers league, Oxford inflicted another body blow on Crawley tonight when Oxford United stole three points from Crawley Town live on Sky Sports. I think this is about the third time that Crawley Town have been on Sky Sports, but I still can’t get used […]

Gobsmacked again!

The other football news is overshadowed by the last-minute transfer deals, but is far from trivial for those of us in Crawley. Although full details of yesterday’s meeting have not been made public, Crawley Town FC’s creditors have agreed to accept the SA Retail Group’s revised offer of 50p in the pound and will not […]

Football through the looking glass

I must be in some strange parallel universe or something. At the end of the first day of the first day of the new (Premier league) season West Ham have more points than all the other London clubs put together, and if the two Manchester teams can manage to win tomorrow it will stay that […]

Juve

Wow. Relegation and a 30-point deduction. At least now when we look at Crawley Town’s 10-point deduction for the new season in the Conference we can tell ourselves that it could be worse, although somehow I suspect Juve will cope a bit better than the Red Devils.
