There were a couple of new attractions at the Broadfield fete this year. One welcome addition was a food stall set up by the Patels, selling samosas and pakoras. I’m not so sure about the appearance of a bucking bronco though. Everyone seemed to enjoy it, but flying off the thing didn’t do my already cricked shoulder a lot of good! This is me shortly before hitting the deck. I don’t like the way this photo makes my man-breasts look more prominent than they should be…
Our MP did it with more style.
Inbetween all that we had a display of karate by the Sama Karate people, some dancing from the junior Masti dancers, tea & cakes all afternoon, a raffle, and lots of stalls to win or buy things at. People tended to come along for an hour or so then drift off, so although there were not a lot of people there at any one time I think that there were quite a few who were there at some point. We won a tour of the local radio station for 6 on the raffle, so thats something to look forward to later in the summer.
EDIT: I didn’t realise how obscene that photo looks… good job the rope thingy isn’t flesh-coloured!
