If anyone is looking for a good way to mark John Peel day this year, and they are within travelling distance of London, they could do a lot worse than going to see Spizzenergi at the Metro Bar in Oxford Street on October 13th.
Spizzenergi did two Peel Sessions in 1979, as well as one in 1978 under the name Spizz Oil and another in 1980 as Athletico Spizz 80 so Peely was obviously a bit of a fan.
I went to see them last year at the Metro bar and a couple of times this year at the 100 Club, and every time they really rocked.
Unfortunately, October 13th clashes with a Labour party manifesto meeting and a Sussex police authority public meeting, otherwise I would be there.
