I have known for a long time that children have a permanent entropy field around them, causing accelerated decay in anything they possess (its the only explanation!) but what I didn’t realise was that it is contagious, and I think I’ve got it now.
On Saturday I turned my monitor off and it would not come back on again, leading to an emergency trip to Comet after the remembrance ceremony to get a new one. This morning the right channel on my earphones just stopped working on the platform at Clapham Junction. And all my backup pairs were at home.
I am now very wary of touching anything. Except my cat who keeps crapping on the bathroom floor.
