I’m sure I will never forget that goal against Manchester United in the FA cup where Barthez just stood there with his hand in the air expecting an offside decision, while Di Canio tapped the ball past him into the net.
But I won’t be able to see it without also having the image of Di Canio with his hand in the air at Lazio making a Mussolini salute.
The last straw with Di Canio is that, even after meeting Italian survivors of concentration camps, he can say “I’ve listened to the stories but I still have my ideas.”
