All I’m saying is that when Rolf Harris wants to make another series of Animal Hospital, he should try to avoid our vets. They were very considerate and sensitive and all that, but they do seem to view euthanasia as more of a first resort than a last one sometimes.
In this case I think they were right, but the last time I took Ziggy there it was when she had some stomach trouble last year. Specifically she kept crapping on the bathroom floor. The vet immediately asked if we wanted her put to sleep. We decided to try some extremely expensive GI food instead which solved the problem. Then we ran out of the food and the crapping started again, so we bought some more. When we ran out again everything was fine, which was a relief at £18 a bag for the food.
Odd. The vet my parents used was the complete opposite. If there was a way, particularly if it involved an indefinite course of pills, he’d go for it. The mongrel who we had when I was a kid was on three pills at once – one of which was to counteract the sideeffects of one of the others, and the third was being trialled for use on humans.
