I think most of us harbour some secret desire to write something and see it published. The urge is probably stronger in the case of those of us who maintain blogs, indeed it can be a way of getting such urges out of the system.
But if you imagine being a writer as a full-time occupation, how do you imagine your working environment? A little book-lined den with a clear desk, computer and printer? A laptop in your favourite armchair? Or how about this!
If thats what it takes I think I will abandon any authorial pipe dreams, or at least limit myself to works which require a lot less planning and research.
