Its not all doom and gloom

Sometimes you get the feeling that the whole country, if not the whole world, is going to the dogs and everybody is bad – its a natural consequence of bad news being more newsworthy and getting reported more.

Today I had a bit of a feel-good moment though.

I was in Somerfield in Broadfield, in the queue for the kiosk (enormous as usual because there are not enough tills open, because all the staff keep leaving) and two youngsters came into the shop. I guess they were about 20 or thereabouts, and they were Asians. They went straight to the till and plonked a carrier bag down.

It turns out they had just left the shop, checked their receipt and realised that the 6 pints of milk in that bag had not been scanned, so they came back in to pay for it.

Two common prejudices shattered in one go – brilliant.

I wonder how many people would have bothered to do that?
