Gardening

August 7th, 2007 · Posted by Skuds in Life · No Comments · Life

As I was out watering the new acquisitions in the garden tonight (and the established plants. Don't want to show favouritism!) I wondered what the point was.

I have a hibiscus by the front door, which was in my old garden in Southgate.  I brought it with me as it was still quite new at the time and I was fond of it.  Since then it has grown to be taller and even wider than me without me ever thinking about watering it.  The way it has thrived on its neglect is one reason why two of the new plants are varieties of hibiscus.

I'm sure the novelty will wear off soon, I will start ignoring the new plants and they will then start taking over the back garden.  Its like Jeff Goldblum says in Jurassic Park "If there is one thing the history of evolution has taught us it's that life will not be contained."
