Well.  I’m excited by the news that Google’s camera cars have been spotted in Crawley.  Is it too much to hope that they will still be around over the Easter weekend so I can try and get myself in as many photos as possible?  I expect that if they do get as far as my road it will be on a thursday morning, based on experience looking at London: they always seem to go everywhere on the day bins are collected.I hope the camera cars get a better reception than they did in Broughton, where local residents blocked the road, gave press and TV interviews and virtually guaranteed that their houses would get looked at.  Instead of having one or two people viewing them at random, plus house-hunters looking at prospective new places to live, they will have thousands visiting to see what the fuss was about.  In the words of the great Al Murray – they didn’t think it through did they?

Which leads me to wonder…  how long before a group crops up on Flickr with photos people have taken to fill in the gaps in Street View?
