A two seater Segway…  fantastic idea. It would be improved by better mileage, but even as it is I could get to work and back for two days on a full charge.

Wow! Would I need to pass my test to take it out on the road or is it just a bike with ideas above its station? I’m about 4.5 miles from work here so I could do half a week on one charge (but would have to pay about £120 a year to park it at the University….)
Well Segways are illegal here in the UK so a two seater one dosn’t bode well – personally I think it looks like a mobility vehicle gone wrong and I shudder to think what it’s NCAP rating would be (probably higher than most of the abysmal “green” vehicles thrust upon us so far though).
Segways are not illegal – its just that you are not allowed to ride them on the road. Or the pavement. Puts them in a similar bracket to powerisers I think.
We saw people zipping around the Farnborough Air Show and the girl was fascinated.
