No apologies for mentioning my recent birthday again. It was a big one after all. This is about people that I share my birthday with.

I already knew that I shared my birthday with Seb Coe, Lech Walesa, Julia Gillard, Wim Kok, Silvio Berlusconi, Michaelangelo Antonioni, Les Claypool, Cervantes and Lord Nelson from looking it up on Wikipedia years ago, but noticed a few more when I was reading the ‘today’s birthdays‘ column in The Times.

The one that caught my eye was Matt Goss from Bros. The reason it caught my eye is that the Bros brothers are famously twins but only one was listed. It seems a bit rough on Luke. It has been playing on my mind ever since, and tonight I looked on Wikipedia again just to check that there wasn’t some strange circumstance like the pair of them being born just each side of midnight or something like that, but both had September 29th listed on their respective pages.

I then looked at the Wikipedia page for September 29th and scrolled down to the births section and found that it listed Luke Goss but not Matt. So according to The Times Matt is the famous one but according to Wikipedia it is Luke.

While I was there I noticed a few more famous people that I wasn’t aware I shared a birthday with, some of whom I am quite pleased about: Brett Anderson, Alan McGee, Robert Webb, Bill Nelson, Jean-Luc Ponty, Jerry Lee Lewis, Enrico Fermi, Mackenzie Crook, and László Bíró.

Not a bad crowd to share a birthday with really, apart from Silvio of course.
