Yes it is only two weeks until the big wobbly sausage! If that makes it sound like I am losing my marbles a bit, I refer you to this story in the Telegraph, specifically the end bit.

Sticking the knives into Clegg
April 22nd, 2010 · 3 Comments · Politics
It looks like the Tory knives are out for Clegg. Not directly of course, but by using the surrogate of the press with all its arms-length plausible deniability. The Mail and Sun are busy trying to dig up as much dirt as they can and the Telegraph is joining in with this story about political […]

No BNP candidate in Horsham
April 17th, 2010 · 4 Comments · Politics
On April 13th the One Million United blog reported : Whispers are circulating this morning about the alleged sacking of yet another British National Party councillor, just three weeks before the general election they had such high hopes for. Daniel McDonald, a BNP councillor for Horsham, is thought to have been sacked for failing to […]
A Future Fair for Ducks
April 16th, 2010 · Comments Off on A Future Fair for Ducks · Politics
I like the Labour manifesto and agree with nearly all of it. I like the picture on the cover as well, but when I saw it I thought it looked a little familiar. In fact it looked a bit like something in my CD collection…  Remember that track called Nice Weather for Ducks? The one […]

We have lift-off
April 9th, 2010 · 4 Comments · Politics
We had a little launch party in Horsham this evening: a chance for members to get together, raise some funds, do a bit of Tory character assassignation, and sign my nomination papers. We have received the necessary certificates from Labour HQ for me to describe myself as “the Labour party candidate” and to use the […]
Less than perfect start to the campaign
April 7th, 2010 · Comments Off on Less than perfect start to the campaign · Politics
I don’t think anybody was surprised by today’s events, but it was still a relief to get confirmation that the ‘cold war’ is over at last.  During the day I had a few phone calls, texts and voicemails, hits to the Horsham Labour website started really taking off and emails were piling up waiting for […]

Bank holiday canvassing
April 5th, 2010 · Comments Off on Bank holiday canvassing · Politics
This morning I went out to do some canvassing with Crawley’s new candidate, Chris Oxlade, for the first time. Obviously I have been out campaigning with him before, but he wasn’t the parliamentary candidate then. Very interesting, and very encouraging. I think he managed more doorstep conversions this morning than a vanload of Jehova’s Witnesses.
